Ripley Snell’s Fall Denim timely arrives as the second
in a series inspired by Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, a follow
up to Cruel Summer (2011).
For this project, Ripley traveled within and throughout
the sonic scape of vinyl based production by Neill Von
Tally. As a team, they’ve come up with a classic album
that cannot be quantified nor compared to any previous
work from them, or anyone else for that matter.
Ripley narrates the lives of the musicians who made
everything, and owned nothing. Throughout, a
connection to night and day, love and struggle is easily
recognized and welcomed. He deftly harmonizes and
bounces off the melodic swing of nostalgia created by

Day & Nite Music is proud to announce the release of Shadow: Acoustic Version from noted musician Dennis Young. The album, initially issued in 2006, showed longtime fans another side of Young—namely, his prodigious talents as a singer/songwriter. This “stripped down” edition brings Young’s talents even further to the forefront, for an intimate experience between musician and listener.
“One cold night last winter, I stumbled upon a version of [the album’s title track] ‘Shadow’ recorded only with my acoustic guitar and vocals,” Young recalls. “I was so taken by the dark emotional quality of the song that I thought it would be a great idea to re-release the entire recording like this.”
Dennis Young first came to the music world’s attention as a member of the seminal minimalist-funk band Liquid Liquid. Their club smash “Cavern,” propelled by Young’s percussion, became the basis of Grandmaster Flash’s rap classic “White Lines (Don’t Do It).” Liquid Liquid’s three early-’80s EPs became the stuff of legend, reissued in 1997 by the Beastie Boys’ label Grand Royal label, and again by Domino Records in 2008.

Comparisons to the great Sade Adu aside, soul singer and producer TENI is an African star in her own right, with the likes of Afrobeat co-creator Tony Allen, the BBC and original Rock bible NME counted as huge fans of hers. Her latest single “Your Love Is The Key” is a stunning and sensual number which sees the eclectic musician match her sultry captivating vocals to a slow-burning Afrobeat-infused groove-filled dance milieu, to stunning effects.
Shot in Labadi Beach in Accra, Ghana, the visuals for “Your Love Is The Key” is a simple, natural and ethereal experience which not only accentuates the sultry uniqueness of the single but also pays homage to early 80’s photo-cinema and music. In full diva mode, Teni is glorious as she channels her sensuality and shows off her beautiful silhouette – rendering her viewer in awe and fully spellbound.
“As we approach the release of our upcoming EP, we wanted to release a track for free to give ya’ll a taste of whats to come. This track is at times sexy, at others aggressive, and has peak moments of weirdness, just how we like it.”

Noctilucous is back with a new three track EP filled with electro bass lines and melodic atmospheres. Soul and
emotion, combined with hard-hitting sounds, blend the electronic and acoustic soundscape to make it the heart of this
EP. In typical form, he demonstrates his ability to fuse personality and heaviness into his productions leaving you with a nice balance of melody and grit.
The first track “Adrenaline” is a signature Noctilucous track, musical in nature and hard hitting at the same time. The
second track “Boogey Man (Coming Closer)” is another melodious track, but in the 170 bpm range. On this one, we
get a hint of Noctilucous’ vocal talents as well as his razor sharp programming. The third and final track “In My Head” is definitely a shift from his typical style. This vocal “chillstep” ballad showcases Noctilucous the “singer/songwriter”. His acoustic guitar playing combined with his soulful voice creates a deep emotional vibe showing us the smoother side of

With a sounds as unique as it’s composer, it’s hard to classify Tranzducer’s Play Onward with any known genre descriptors. Yes, it is electronic in it’s nature but it pushes beyond club room half-life that most modern electronic tracks aim for. Play Onward falls more into the IDM category with atmospheric sounds combined with frantic fast paced timing. Tranzducer’s resident mastermind, Anthony Alongi, wrote and recorded this album after leaving a “status quo” lifestyle in NYC to farm in Texas. You can’t directly hear the farm influence in the music but if you listen hard enough and really feel the atmosphere then it could come together. My favorite track off the album was Reverse McTwist. I’m a huge fan of minimal and chillout music, so I really enjoyed this. Check out the album on his bandcamp and see what you think!
